Holding your breath until you find the answers? It's time to exhale.

Life can be a lot.

Add chronic pain to the mix?

It can become too much.

We all would benefit from taking a break and being easier on ourselves… but you, a chronic pain sufferer, you need it more than anyone.

Are you easy on yourself?

Do you pause during the day to breathe, to smile, to appreciate the small things?

Do you have a meditation practice, or at least some kind of practice of slowing down and being present?

You need it more than anyone,

but you know what I see all too often?

People who are struggling with some kind of emotional or physical pain, or an issue they’re desperate to find the solution to do not let themselves relax.

Why?

Because they tell themselves they can finally relax when they get better or find the answer they’ve been looking for,

and sometimes they even believe that they don’t DESERVE TO RELAX until they find this answer or solution.

THIS IS YOUR PERMISSION SLIP TO

RELAX, ANYWAY.

Not only do you deserve to feel joy and ease now, but it is an essential part of your healing.

The more harried + desperate searching for a solution you’re doing the more you’ll benefit from moments of pausing, letting yourself be and appreciating where you are.

There’s an old Zen saying that goes: “You should sit in meditation for 20 minutes a day. Unless you’re too busy, then you should sit for an hour.”

You might be asking: how could I possibly pause and feel joy and ease when I’m in this much pain?

Mindbody practices can open the doorway to create more space in the mind and body, so joy and ease can emerge.

It’s possible,

and it’s yours if you want it.

Don’t hold your breath until you find the solution.

Exhale.

And you know what?

If you:

  • feel your feet on the ground

  • give 1-5% more of your weight to the ground beneath you

  • soften your:

    • jaw,

    • neck,

    • throat,

    • and the space between your brows

  • take 3 deep breaths

    • with long slow exhales out through your mouth

clarity may arise,

and you may be pointed in the direction of the answer you’ve been looking for.

Comment below and let me know: are you one of the people who never lets yourself relax because you’re anxiously looking for a solution? Would you even know the first thing to do if you wanted to relax? Let’s talk 🙂

Wishing you deeper breaths and greater joy,

Eve

P.S. here’s a little throwback to a short instagram reel I made 2 years ago on this topic 🙂
